Speak to the heart and the mind will follow.

I’m Jon Kent, owner and operator of Kent Creative, and welcome to my blog. When I was a philosophy major in college, I found the problem of suffering to be both the most compelling and the most challenging issue. Although I didn’t pursue a graduate degree in philosophy, my entire career has been dedicated to helping nonprofits and NGOs alleviate suffering and help people in need.

Throughout my journey, I’ve continually sought out meaningful texts and effective tools to better understand two key questions: Why don’t people do more to help those in need, especially when innocent lives are at stake? How can we, as communicators, inspire action and motivate people to make a difference?

In this blog, I’ll explore insights from neuroscience, literature, psychology, decision sciences, philosophy, theology, visual design, and photography—drawing from a wide range of disciplines to tackle these critical questions. Together, we’ll dive into the complexities of human behavior and communication, seeking ways to turn awareness into action.

I invite you to join me in this exploration as we tackle these challenging issues and search for solutions that can inspire real change.
